Instructional Objective

TSWBAT

Students will know how to perform all services that will be covered according to the Milady Textbook

Students will know why studying infection control is important in working in a salon.  The current regulations for health and safety; Preventing the spread of disease by using precautions while becoming a professional.

Students will know how to clean and disinfect, sterilize to keep from spreading infection or diseases to protect their clients as well as themselves.

 

Students will practice proper cleaning and disinfecting using the procedures according to the Milady Textbook.

Students will complete the Barbicide Training

002 Competency Students will practice proper exposure incident.

 

006 Competency Students will practice blood exposure incident while using the state board rubric the will be provide to each student; p. 105-106.

Demonstration will be provided before students begin to practice.

Materials

Antiseptic, bandage, biohazard sticker, cotton, disposable gloves, disposable paper towels, EPA-registered hospital disinfectant, liquid soap, plastic bag, sharp box.

Textbook, practical and theory work book, smart board projector, study guide, milady on line testing, power point, and pen/pencil.

Disinfectant, water soap, hand  sanitizer, gloves, blood borne pathogen DVD, exposure kit, safety sign off sheet.

Covered storage container, disinfectant container, disposable gloves, liquid disinfectant, pump liquid soap, safety glasses, scrub brushes, nail brush, timer, tongs, towels

Chelating detergent, logbook, EPA-registered hospital liquid disinfectant, and paper towels.

Assessment

Students will be assessed according to completed practical workbook on Chapter 5.the rubric as if they were taking their state board.

 

 

Will be evaluated regarding progress on practical skills and theory testing.  Computer evaluation charts are provided.

Certification will be required.  There is a test after video.
